Let me share with you a quote from one of the most famous and very talented tennis player of all time, the former world number one and eight-time grandslam winner, a quote from the Andre Agassi. It is a quote wherein he relates tennis with the lessons in life.

“It’s no accident that Tennis uses the language of life, service, advantage, break, fault, love. The lessons of Tennis are the lessons of maturity.”

Today after retiring from tennis last September3, 2006 he has been inducted into the tennis Hall of Fame. Together with his wife fellow hall of famer Steffi Graf, Agassi has devoted his life to philanthropy work after retiring from professional tennis. Today all his effort and dedication to the sport he loved is placing his name along side all the other tennis greats.
I love tennis, I began to do so during Agassi's time. It was the height of his rivalry with Pete Sampras. But I never liked Sampras. I never also got to see Andre play with long hair. During that time he was not getting positive reviews and ratings from tennis experts and other tennis enthusiasts. He was even dubbed as a rebel. Something that he himself admits. It even seemed like he was not happy being on top. It was only later in his career that he learned to love and appreciate everything that tennis has done and given him.

After all the trophies, price money, grandslam championship and of course the fame that tennis has gave him he opted to retire and concentrate on his personal and family life. He retired after he lost during the third round in the US Open. Although many reviews and predictions thought otherwise he felt that it was the right time to stop.He suffered from many kind of health conditions before he decided to do so. But it was after he decided to retire that he also started to and launched the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation which has so far raised more than $50 million meant for all the sick children in Southern Nevada. Agassi and Graf are now residence of Las Vegas.

Much has been said, both international and local reviews has been published, but at the end of the day no matter how he was as a tennis a player he will always be remembered and forever be considered as one of the greatest. That is one thing that all tennis fans like me will always treasure. Tennis will never be the same without an Andre Agassi.
