It was not a pleasant great weekend for me all because I was disappointed with the results of the sporting events I was looking forward to. Sounds funny but that is how affected I am when it comes to my favorite players or teams doing not so good in their respective sports.
I was excited to go home Saturday afternoon because I wanted to watch the Power Aid Philippines team take on their South Korean counterparts in the 2009 FIBA Asia tournament. Coming from a convincing win Friday night against the Japanese team, team Philippines was in high spirits into the game. But the Filipinos came short, bowing down to the Korean National team.

Afterwards I watched the primer for the next days UFC 101. I had to wake up early even though it was a Sunday just to be able to catch the fights. I was rooting for my second favorite UFC player Forrest Griffin to defeat a much-favored Anderson Silva. I was close to tears when Forrest was KOed. A consolation prize for me was BJ Penn’s win over Kenny Florian via, rare naked choke, although I am not a big fan of his.
