Davao City is again celebrating one of the most colorful festival in the Philippines, the "Kadayawan Festival 2009". This year's festival theme is "Nahiusang KatawhanNakigdait sa Kalibutan" (One People in Communion with the Earth) . This week long celebration, August 18 to 24, 2009, will feature different activities that has made Davao and Kadayawan a favorite of both international and local tourist destination every August.The three most famous events that makes "Kadayawan" very colorful are the "Indak-indak sa Kadalanan (street dancing), Floral Float Parade and the Search for Hiyas ng Kadayawan. But aside from these activities it is also during this festival that Dabawenyos takes pride and boasts the City's three famous icons, the Mt. Apo, Durian and Waling-waling.
Every year the festivals organizers which are composed of city officials, business and private sectors' representatives, heads of the different tribes from Davao are coming up with more fun activities which make it more exciting every year.

Seems like so much fun watching this kind of festivities.. I never had a chance to watch this even the famous Sinulog in Cebu :(
