The fight was first scheduled on July 1, 2009 but was moved to September 19. 2009 instead. The 12 round welterweight showdown was postponed because of a supposed injury acquired by Mayweather during his training. But many boxing analyst as well as boxing enthusiast believes that the real reason behind the postponement is the slow movement of tickets. Unlike the fights of our very own "Pambansang Kamao" Manny Pacquiao where tickets are sold like hot pancakes.
Either way I am looking forward to this fight. I have seen both figthers inside the ring I can't wait how this fight will turn out. This is Floyd Mayweather's chance to prove himself, a lot has been said about his untimely retirement and now that he has returned to the ring hopefully he will be able to prove to his detractors that they are all wrong.
On the other hand Marquez' skills, intelligence and defensive style of boxing will surely give Mayweather a hard time.
