I would have love to see the Denver Nuggets and Cleveland Cavaliers face each other in the 2009 NBA finals but both teams lost to the LA Lakers and Orlando Magic, respectively. If it were the Nuggets and the Cavs in the finals it would have been more exciting because I think both teams are equal in talent and experience. Unlike the current series which is between the Lakers and the Magic, the Orlando team is no match compared to the talent and experience of the LA team. Orlando lacks the leadership and championship experience they need specially during crunch time which Kobe Bryant provides for LA.
Watching the 4th game today, I thought Magic already bagged it until the last final seconds of the 4th quarter, Dwight Howard missed two very important free throws that should have given them five points lead. After the miss the Magic's lead of three points was easily erased by Derek Fisher, showing the kind of experience and composure he has leading to an over time. And basing on the previous game which went over regulation Orlando's defence and offense crumble down. There "go to" guy fails to deliver, giving in to the pressure thus losing the game eventually. Which is what happened again today.
I never really liked the Lakers, I have said that so many times and even though it pains me to say this but I think this series already belongs to them. Whether it ends on the fifth, sixth or seventh game, but even before the series started my gut already told me Kobe will have another championship on his fingers.
