In the world of surfing the Irons brothers Andy and Bruce are very well known. The younger Irons, Bruce followed his brother's footsteps, he went pro right after he graduated from High school. But he began surfing when he was still seven years old in the dangerous and shallow reefs of the North Shore in Kauai, Hawaii.Bro'd out is the name of the aerial maneuver Bruce is known for, he is also has the fearless tuberiding abilities and says he will ride any kind of wave wherever in the world. Bruce did his first 360 when he was still 10 years old in a local break 9 called Pine Trees.
One of Bruce's greatest feats was when he defeated nine-time world champion Kelly Slater to win the 2001 Pipe Masters Event. Prior to winning the event he already placed 2nd in 1998 and 3rd in 2000 in the same event. Just recently he won the 2008 Rip Curl event where he beat Frederick Patacchia, an event held in Indonesia.
