Finalists Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal pose for the photographers just after the coin toss. When i woke up this morning I was really excited, why??Because I can't wait to check the finals result of the match between Federer and Nadal in the Wimbledon Championship. I forgot to check the Wimbledon site yesterday because I was in a hurry. Didn't hear anything about it either in the news, I even asked my brother if he knew but his not into tennis so he wouldn't know either. So when I got to the office the very first thing I did was turned my PC on and checked the Wimbledon official website. The headline that greeted me there made me very, very, very happy. My friend Maian even wondered what was going on with me. I told her I am just so glad that finally Rafa defeated Federer on grass.
during the game...

wiping off sweat..a classic match..Its been always said that Nadal plays best on clay but with this win he is able to prove that he can play and beat anyone on any court, even the world number 1. When Nadal defeated Federer in the French Open i was happy but I couldn't be happier with this achievement of his, ending Federer's dynasty of five years in the Wimbledon Championship. I have watched him play against Federer last year I was convinced that Federer was really a better tennis player on grass. But this year Rafa improved his game and he showed it during the finals match which was deemed the longest finals match ever in the history of the tournament. A five setter game and also the best way to close the most watched and popular tournament in tennis. It was an epic battle of the two best tennis players today. But Nadal survived the match despite the rain delays and the come backs made by his opponent, winning his first ever Wimbledon title..
Rafa won the match (6-4, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-7 (8), 9-7)Too much excitement over the men's finals result i didn't even bother to check who won the women's finals match between sisters' Serena and Venus...
